Before I have taught any subject, I have spent a fair amount of time reading, and learning as much as I can. I often will spend time a the library looking at different resources, not only for my students to use, but for me as well. 

Not only do I spend time reading, and researching about the subject, but I also spend a lot of time looking into different ideas, and activities that could help me to teach the subject.
